Ignition Timing Check and Adjust Advance

Check, re-set and adjust/advance the ignition timing (Mk1 cars only) to improve your car's throttle response.

Mazda set the ignition timing to 10 degrees BTDC at the factory to help the engine cope with any grade fuel. Advancing the timing to 14 degrees BTDC will improve the performance and throttle response without causing 'pinking', with the standard unleaded 95 octane fuels available in the UK/Europe.
